Voltaix, Inc. Earns ISO 9001 Certification

Voltaix, Inc. New Jersey Manufacturing Operations Receive ISO 9001 Certification

Voltaix, Inc., www.voltaix.com announced today that the company has received ISO 9001-2000 certification for its New Jersey operations.

This certification includes manufacturing operations, quality management systems and support functions for the production of semiconductor and photovoltaic materials. ISO 9001-2000 certification is an internationally recognized standard that provides companies with the structure needed to develop, maintain and continually improve their manufacturing quality control systems.

The Voltaix manufacturing facility in North Branch, New Jersey produces a wide variety of silicon, germanium and boron based gases and mixtures used by semiconductor and photovoltaic device manufacturers. Major products include germane, a key hydride gas used for the production of SiGe devices, diborane which is used as a source of boron for dielectrics and doping of semiconductor devices, silicon tetrafluoride, a key chemical for the current generation of low-k dielectric devices and methylsilanes for the production of Si-Ge-C epitaxial alloy layers and leading edge low-k semiconductor devices.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has developed Q9001-2000 as a common quality standard for major companies. ISO 9001-2000 provides a management framework that defines a company's processes and provides a controlled approach for the manufacturing of products that generates a consistent level of quality and provides a clear basis for continuous improvement of quality.

"This certification will allow Voltaix to continue to meet and exceed our customer's requirements as the need for higher quality products continues to evolve," Said Dr. John de Neufville, president of Voltaix, Inc. "Our successful completion of this step in our ongoing commitment to quality will allow us to sustain our existing markets and will increase our ability to serve the widest range of markets."
