Corporate Relocation and Desktop Deployment Expertise Provide Emergency Support during 9/11 Crisis.

After 9/11, JB Technologies dedicated resources on a 24/7 basis to ensure the successful relocation of 5000 users to Deutsche Bank’s DR Site in New Jersey as well as their mid-town offices. The emergency relocation effort took 5 weeks.

Over the past three years, JB Technologies (formerly Big Apple Technologies) has been building relationships with several large financial firms and banks. We provided several types of technology services including desktop deployment, remote access services and user relocation projects with one of the world's largest investment banks.

Our initial involvement was limited to staff augmentation but increased due to our excellent customer care and service delivery. As demand for relocation projects grew, JB Technologies began to assume a greater role in developing process and procedure as well as choosing the appropriate technicians and managers for the team.

As the skill level of the team grew beyond simple projects, we aggressively pursued additional opportunities. We were able to successfully leverage the expertise and experience of our staff to assume responsibility for other technology functions.

An executive support team was created to provide 24X7 technology support and services to a select group of senior managers within the firm. Team members would be called upon to travel in advance of executives to foreign and domestic locations making the necessary arrangements for access to files and email. These team members were also involved in the planning and implementation of technology solutions for off site meetings as well as daily support of these executives.

The next challenge was to absorb the remote access services function. This proved to be a difficult task due to a lack of documentation and resources. The first plan of action was to address all outstanding user issues and eliminate the backlog of remote access service requests. Once accomplished, staffing changes were made to increase the technical capabilities of the team and a manager was appointed to strategically plan for the delivery of remote access services in the future.

Over time we began assuming responsibility for the desktop deployment function. After some initial issues similar to remote access, a process has been developed and successfully implemented.
